The 10k test read for Inconsolable is in progress.
This is the hermit, squatter, cave dweller hero story. Yeah, you read that right.
This is the nervy moment before the gut sucking decision to write another 90 thousand odd words takes place.
If they’re bored with with the first few chapters – we’re looking at duck that’s eaten with pancakes. Duck that won’t fly, or even waddle any further in a reader’s imagination.
Doesn’t matter that I have more on the page than the first 10k, matters that people want to read it.
Am holding out for the wants.
Never did like eating duck.
